Caballito Negro presents selections from their acclaimed program, Alone | Together, as part of the Ashland Independent Film Festival. The concert is an intimate tribute to futurist speculations, with science as play, in collaboration with electronic musicians Todd Barton and Bruce Bayard.

Box |Grown Men Sing, composed and performed by flutist Tessa Brinckman, is a 33 minute electro-acoustic tone poem which explores the meta-politics of solitary confinement, with live bass flute, waterphone, recordings of three survivors, found sound + video.
Caballito Negro collaborates with flutist Debra Harris, percussionists Chris Whyte and Jared Brown, continuing a series of presentations of the epic John Luther Adams’ “songbirdsongs”. A meditation on wildness, “songbirdsongs” is a collection of indeterminate miniature pieces for piccolos, ocarinas, and percussion, based on free translations of bird songs.
Tessa Brinckman is a visiting artist at Renée Coulombe’s new artistic residency, The Willows Nest, in Berlin. Coulombe – a composer, musician, multi-disciplinary adventurer – is both host and collaborator, in performance and discussion sessions. More details to come…!
